Privacy Policy

Sound Tester is built to hold as little of your data as possible. The short version: no accounts, no uploads, nothing stored on any server.

What stays on your device

Every tool runs entirely in your browser. Test tones are synthesized locally by the Web Audio API — there is no audio file being downloaded and no server involved in playback. The microphone test reads your mic only while the meter or recorder is running, keeps the recording in the page’s memory, and erases it when you close the tab. Tone settings you save (last frequency, waveform, volume) live in your browser’s local storage on this device.

What the site stores

The site has no accounts and keeps no user records. Like most websites, the hosting layer may process standard technical request logs (IP address, user agent) for security and reliability; those logs are not used to profile visitors and are not shared or sold.

Permissions, plainly

The microphone test asks for browser microphone permission because it cannot hear otherwise; the permission is used only while the tool is active, and denying it breaks only that one tool. No other permission is requested, and no data derived from your microphone is transmitted anywhere.
